Innsbruck

The heart of the Tyrol

The provincial capital of the Tyrol, Innsbruck is also described as the heart of the Tyrol. Sitting on the Inn River surrounded by impressive snow-capped peaks, Innsbruck is half way between Munich and Verona- providing a link between the north and the south. The combination of its rich history and breathtaking scenery make it a magnificent city to visit. It is a city where the culture and sports worlds merge into one- where it’s not unusual to be crossing paths with opera-goers and skiers and snowboarders in the city centre.

Whether you are passing through on your way to the slopes or heading there for a long weekend, you will find plenty to do, see and eat! If you are feeling active explore the historic old town on foot, stroll along the river Inn or head up the “Nordkette” lift to take in panaoramas across the Inn valley. For a taste of Austrian city life – enjoy some shopping in delightful tyrolean boutiques and taste some delicious Apple Strudel or Sachertorte in the fine Austrian coffee houses.
